Self-retardant: Polyphenylene sulfide flame retardant can reach UL94-0 grade, oxygen index (LOI) >57%. The chemical structure of polyphenylene sulfide itself makes it has good incombustibility, no need to add flame retardant.
Good mechanical properties: its rigidity is very strong, high surface hardness, Rockwell hardness>100HR, tensile strength>170 MPa, bending strength>220MPa, notched impact strength>16 MPa, bending modulus>3.5×104, and has excellent creep resistance and fatigue resistance.
Excellent chemical resistance: no solvents have been found that can dissolve polyphenylene sulfide below 200℃, and it has excellent resistance to inorganic acids, alkalis and salts.
Good dimensional stability: molding shrinkage is very low, less than 0.0025%, the absorption rate is less than 0.05%, and the linear coefficient of thermal expansion is also small. Under high temperature and high humidity conditions, it still shows good dimensional stability. Therefore, it has a wide range of uses in machinery, chemical industry, instruments, meters and aviation, aerospace, ships and other aspects.
Excellent electrical properties: polyphenylene sulfide in high temperature, high humidity, high-frequency conditions still has excellent electrical properties, its volume resistivity of 1 × 1016Ω.cm, surface resistivity of 1 × 1015Ω, electrical strength > 18KV/mm.
Outstanding abrasion resistance: by filling lubricants such as fluorine resin and carbon fiber, its abrasion resistance can be greatly improved, and the coefficient of friction is 0.01-0.02.
Amplitude radiation resistance: Amplitude radiation resistance reaches Gy 1×108, which is a new material incomparable to other engineering plastics, and it is the only ideal and excellent material for radiation resistance in the fields of electronics, electrics, machinery, instrumentation, aviation, aerospace, and military, especially for atomic bombs and neutron bombs.
Good processing performance: PPS resin melt viscosity is low, good fluidity, very easy to wet with glass fiber contact, so filling filler is easy, with its preparation of glass fiber or inorganic filler reinforced injection molding-grade granules, with high resistance to stretching, impact resistance, bending and ductility. It can be molded uniformly above its melting point.
Good bonding performance with metals and non-metals: PPS has very high bonding strength especially for glass, aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, etc., with adhesion up to grade 1. Good bonding performance to glass, very suitable for chemical equipment lining.
